Do You Have The Courage To Stand?

Amongst a sea of rabid and frantic Nazi supporters, one man had the courage of his own convictions... to stand alone... in defiance of an evil criminal empire. Look closely at the crowd. Every single German is saluting... except for August Landmesser, who had the courage to stand on his own, to indict a government that had gone awry.

How many of you have the fearless moral conviction of August Landmesser?

To coin the phrase, "Is it in you?"

A Landmesser Moment vs. A Niemoller Moment

In World War II, the Reverend Niemoller was quoted as saying: "In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up, because I was a protestant. Then they came for me... and by that time there was no one left to speak for me."

The wisdom of Niemoller. The courage of Landmesser.
