The winner of four Academy Awards, the 1976 movie Network took aim at network television news and its corporate entanglements. The movie laid bare the boardroom politics behind the scenes of network television, as well as providing a glimpse of the effect it has on its viewers and society.

Howard excoriates the viewers for being consumed by TV, lamenting that they have lost touch with reality.

Howard's mad as hell rant about the ills of society, urging  viewers to open their windows and voice their disgust too.

People can beat the system if they recognize their oppression and then stand together as one against the corporate powers.

Arguably one of the most powerful scenes from the movie,  the infamous "the world is a business" speech.
